Ross "The Boss" Friedman hat als Mitbegründer und Songwriter von Manowar in den 80er Jahren gewaltige Spuren in der Szene hinterlassen. Zwischen 1982 bis 1988 veröffentlichte die Band Klassiker auf Klassiker und wurde zum Inbegriff epischen Heavy Metals. 1989 verließ Ross die Band und frönte anderen Projekten, im Jahr 2008 startete der Kultgitarrist unter dem Banner ROSS THE BOSS dann seine Soloband – wieder klar am traditionellen Heavy Metal der alten Schule orientiert. Dem Debüt "New Metal Leader" folgte zwei Jahre später "Hailstorm". Doch nun ist es soweit: ROSS THE BOSS ist zurück - und nimmt diesmal keine Gefangenen! Mit einer neuen, hungrigen Band, bestehend aus Sänger Marc Lopes, Mike LePond (Symphony X), Drummer Lance Barnewold und eben Ross an der Gitarre, spielten ROSS THE BOSS auf ihrer "Discipline Of Steel" Tour ein Set von Manowar-Klassikern der frühen Jahre.

Nun jedoch ist es endlich Zeit für ein neues Album: "By Blood Sworn" zeigt die True Metal-Ikone in Höchstform: Ein donnergewaltiges, mächtiges Opus, mit dem Ross und seine Truppe alle Metalfans begeistern werden. Als Tribut an seine bewegte Vergangenheit enthält die limitierte Digipak-Version von „By Blood Sworn“ mit „Hail And Kill“, „Each Dawn I Die“ und „The Oath“ drei Manowar-Klassiker in neu eingespielten Versionen.
